Financial Planning Associate
Job Overview:
The Financial Associate is a dynamic, hybrid role that combines key elements of business development and paraplanning to provide comprehensive support to financial advisers. This position is designed for individuals looking to gain extensive exposure to the financial planning industry while developing the skills necessary to advance into an advisory role in the future.
The role involves client engagement, lead generation, marketing support, financial planning assistance, and administrative tasks, making it both client-facing and technical. It is ideal for highly organized, proactive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Support advisers by identifying and reaching out to potential clients via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other marketing channels.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing and promoting webinars, seminars, and community outreach initiatives to enhance brand awareness and generate new business.
- Client Outreach & Relationship Building: Follow up on leads, schedule initial meetings, and maintain communication with prospects to nurture relationships.
- CRM Management: Update and maintain client data in the CRM system, ensuring accurate records of interactions and progress.
Financial Planning & Client Management
- Financial Planning Support: Assist advisers in preparing financial plans, suitability reports, and investment recommendations.
- Proposal & Report Writing: Draft and refine client presentations, investment summaries, and policy documents.
- Product Research: Conduct research on financial products, investment platforms, and tax strategies to support adviser recommendations.
- Client Onboarding & Administration: Support the onboarding process by assisting clients with documentation, compliance, and account setup.
- Meeting Preparation & Follow-Ups: Prepare pre-meeting briefs, take detailed notes during meetings, and manage follow-up action points.
Who We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with potential clients and build relationships.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and financial planning software.
- Strong analytical and research skills with an interest in financial markets and investment products.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in financial services, sales, or client management is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as Series 65, (or interest in pursuing) would be a plus.
